Netflix tips and tricks
Here are six tips and tricks for Netflix. How to use Netflix codes to find hidden content, set the best video quality, turn off autoplay, personalize your profile, keyboard shortcuts, and how to download shows and movies for offline streaming.
How to use Netflix codes?
Even with Netflix’s suggestions, there are still thousands of titles to search from in its library. If you’re using a Mac or a PC, you can use Netflix codes to find anything you want to watch. Netflix codes are a short string of numbers that are assigned to specific genres and subgenres of shows and movies. You can enter these codes into your browser’s URL bar to be taken to the page that lists every title in that genre.
For example, to browse Military Action & Adventure, which is code 2125, you would add 2125 in the URL, like this. https://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/2125
You can also follow this method to use Netflix Codes. You need to navigate to your main menu and click search. In the search field, simply enter a category code to view all hidden movies in the subcategory. Once entered, you will be able to access all movies available under the category code, and here is a full list of Netflix Codes you can use to access hidden movies, series and TV shows.
Set Best Video & Audio Quality
Netflix gives you the ability to adjust your video and audio quality. In account settings, scroll down to the user profile and click the arrow to reveal the drop-down menu. Scroll down and click “Change” for playback settings. Here is where you can change between low, medium, and high video and audio quality. To make it easy, choose auto, and Netflix will choose whichever quality is the best for your connection. Choosing a lower quality can help you with controlling your data usage.
How to turn off auto play in Netflix?
Once you log on to Netflix, video previews of movies and shows will automatically play on the homepage. To disable this feature, click the profile icon and open account settings. Scroll down to the user profile and click the arrow to reveal the drop-down menu. Click “Change” for playback settings and uncheck “Autoplay previews while browsing on all devices.” Then click “Save.”
How to personalize Netflix profiles?
Each Netflix account can have up to five different profiles. Creating an account for each family member is a great way for Netflix to tailor settings, preferences, and watch habits separately for each user. To add a profile, click the profile icon and click “Manage Profiles.” Click “Add Profile.” If it’s for a child, choose “Kid.” Set a name and icon for the profile. And then press “Save.”
When watching Netflix on Mac or PC, you can use your keyboard to control your playback settings. To play or pause the video, press the space bar. To open full-screen mode, press F. You can exit full-screen mode with escape. Fast-forward 10 seconds with the right arrow key. Rewind 10 seconds with the left arrow key. Increase the volume with the up arrow key, and decrease the volume with the down arrow key. You can skip the intro by pressing S. Mute the audio by pressing M.
How to download Netflix shows and movies on a smartphone?
Netflix allows you to download shows and movies to watch offline so you can watch content without an internet connection. The feature is only available for mobile devices like smartphones and tablets and limited to certain titles. Open Netflix and search for the title you’d like to watch. Tap the title to reveal the page details and options. Tap the download button, which is the downward-pointing arrow. Once downloaded, an icon will appear next to the movie you’ve chosen. If it’s a show, each episode will have its own download button. Tap “Downloads” at the bottom of the screen to see a list of all the downloaded movies and TV shows stored on your device.
All Netflix downloads will expire after a certain amount of time, depending on the title. To delete a title, simply swipe left and tap the red X icon.
