The combination of cloud and communication networks will help Microsoft to serve globally using Azure. It adds depth to their hyperscale cloud infrastructure with the specialized software from Metaswitch that run virtualized communication functions, applications and networks.

With ultra-reliable low latency communications and massive machine-type communication to enable IoT at scale. 5G offers significant potential for enterprises and governments and in turn creates new opportunities for operators.
